Voice and Data Cabling

Cabling Cat 5e
Norwest Digital Communications Ltd undertake Category 5e structured cabling which allows for instant reconfiguration of voice and data equipment.

There is limited disruption and cost because configuration is done through patch panel connections. This allows voice, data, or video signals to be delivered to any desk or workstation. You will see the benefits of structure cabling by having the latest technologies and its flexibility.

Cat 6
If you experience bandwidth congestion, you will probably have to upgrade your cable to Cat 6. Cat 5 and Cat 5e are both 100 MHz cables whilst Cat 6 is a 250 MHz cable.

Fibre Optic
Fibre does however offer other advantages over copper cabling. As fibre operates on wavelengths of light it is far less susceptible to interference and therefore produces a much clearer signal.

Fibre optics are fine strands of glass (photo) which can carry the full spectrum of light (including infra red and ultra violet). Whilst thinner than the average human hair, this gives fibre optic tremendous capacity. Each fibre can carry 30,000 simultaneous voice calls!
